This Privacy Notice explains how ArkQuest ("ArkQuest", "we") collects, uses and shares personal data when you use ArkQuest (the "Service"). ArkQuest is the data controller for personal data processed in connection with the Service.

1. Data we collect

  • Account data: name, email, password hash, login timestamps.
  • Profile & family data: kid profiles, age range, avatar, progress.
  • Usage data: quests completed, streaks, in-app interactions, device and browser identifiers, IP address.
  • Support data: messages and attachments you send us.
  • Order data: collected by our Merchant of Record (Stripe) when you pay.

2. How we use data

  • To create and operate your account and deliver the Service (contract).
  • To improve features, fix bugs and analyze product usage (legitimate interests).
  • To prevent fraud and abuse and keep the Service secure (legitimate interests / legal obligation).
  • To provide customer support (contract).
  • To send service emails and, with consent where required, product updates (consent / legitimate interests).

3. Who we share data with

  • Service providers (sub-processors) for hosting, database, email and analytics.
  • Stripe, our Merchant of Record, for processing payments, managing subscriptions, tax compliance and invoicing.
  • Professional advisers (legal, accounting) where necessary.
  • Authorities when required by law.

We do not sell personal data.

4. International transfers

Where personal data is transferred outside your country, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses or adequacy decisions) as required by applicable law.

5. Retention

We retain personal data only as long as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce agreements. When no longer needed, data is deleted or anonymized.

6. Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you have rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict or port your personal data, to object to processing, and to withdraw consent. EU/UK users may lodge a complaint with their supervisory authority. To exercise rights, contact us via the in-app support channel; we respond within 30 days.

7. Security

We use appropriate technical and organizational measures (encryption in transit, access controls, audit logging) to protect personal data, though no system is 100% secure.

8. Cookies

We use strictly necessary cookies to operate the Service and, where consented to, analytics cookies to understand usage. You can manage preferences via your browser.

9. Children

ArkQuest is designed for families. Parents/guardians create and manage kid profiles and are responsible for the data they enter on behalf of children.
