Ruth Chooses to Stay — a 5-minute devotion for Saint-Lazare families

Ruth 1 · Loyalty that costs something

After losing everything, Naomi told her daughters-in-law to go home. Ruth refused, promising to stay with her, in her land, with her God. She walked into a foreign country with nothing but that promise.

If mornings are the only quiet minutes your Saint-Lazare household gets, use this before the school run. Read Ruth 1, say the verse once in the car, and come back to the question on the way home. Repetition is doing the work, not length.

Memory verse

“Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay.”

Ruth 1:16

Table question

Who in our family needs you to stay close this week?

30-second prayer

God, make us loyal like Ruth — the kind of people who stay. Amen.

Make it stick: on the way through Saint-Lazare tomorrow, one person says the first half of "Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay." and someone else finishes it. Three tries and it is memorised.

Tomorrow: Ruth in the harvest field (Ruth 2). ArkQuest queues the next reading automatically, so nobody has to decide what comes after tonight.
