Queen Esther Saves Her People

Read-aloud
1. A surprise queen
Esther, an orphan, became queen of Persia. She kept her Jewish family secret.
2. An evil plan
Haman, the king's right-hand man, tricked the king into signing a law to destroy the Jewish people.
3. 'For such a time as this'
Esther's cousin Mordecai told her: 'Maybe you became queen for this exact moment.' Esther said, 'I'll go to the king — if I die, I die.'
4. The rescue
Esther invited the king and Haman to a feast, told the truth, and her people were saved. Haman's plan fell on his own head.
