The Wise and Foolish Builders
Two men built houses. Only one was still standing after the storm — because of what was underneath.
Big idea
It's not enough to hear about Jesus — do what he says, and you'll stand.
Read-aloud
1. Two houses
Jesus told a story about two builders. Both built houses. Both looked good from the outside.
2. Two foundations
One built on solid rock. The other built on sand — it was faster and easier.
3. The storm comes
Rain poured. Rivers rose. Wind battered both houses. Storms come to every house — no one gets skipped.
4. One still stands
The house on the rock stood. The house on the sand collapsed with a great crash. Jesus said, 'Anyone who hears my words and does them is like the wise builder.'
