Questions parents ask

How long should a family devotional be?
Five to ten minutes is enough for most families. Read one short passage, ask one question, pray one sentence. A short devotional you do every day beats a long one you do twice a month.
What age should we start family devotions?
From about age four, using picture-friendly passages and one question. Ages 7-9 can read a verse aloud themselves, and 10-12s can handle a short chapter plus a follow-up question.
When is the best time of day?
Attach it to something you already do every day — dinner, the school run, or bedtime. The anchor matters more than the hour.
What if my kids won't sit still?
Shorten it, move it, and let them answer physically — act out the story, draw the verse, or walk while you talk. Engagement matters more than stillness.
Do we need a devotional book?
No. A Bible and one question works. ArkQuest Premium adds a daily age-banded reading and question so nobody has to plan it — $9/month for the whole family.
