The Wise and Foolish Builders — a 5-minute devotion for Curitiba families

Matthew 7:24-27 · What your life is built on

Two houses looked the same until the storm came. One was built on rock and stood; one was built on sand and fell with a great crash. The difference was invisible until the weather changed.

Use this one on the Curitiba weekend, when there is room for a longer conversation. Read Matthew 7:24-27, talk through the question properly, then write the memory verse somewhere everyone will see it on Monday.

Memory verse

“Everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock.”
Matthew 7:24

Table question

What is one thing we could actually do tomorrow with what we read tonight?

30-second prayer

Jesus, we hear a lot and do a little. Help us build on rock this week. Amen.

Make it stick: pick one person in Curitiba — a neighbour, a grandparent, a classmate — and do the thing the story asks for before Sunday. What your life is built on only counts once it costs something.

Tomorrow: the narrow gate (Matthew 7:13-14). ArkQuest queues the next reading automatically, so nobody has to decide what comes after tonight.
