Mary Says Yes — a 5-minute devotion for Osasco families

Luke 1:26-38 · An ordinary yes to an impossible thing

An angel told a young woman in an ordinary town that she would carry the Son of God. She asked one honest question, then answered with her whole life: let it be to me as you have said.

This works best in Osasco as a bedtime reading. Lights low, Luke 1:26-38 read slowly, the memory verse said twice, then the prayer. Younger children fall asleep on "an ordinary yes to an impossible thing"; older ones usually want to argue about it first, which is fine.

Memory verse

“I am the Lord's servant. May your word to me be fulfilled.”
Luke 1:38

Table question

What is God asking you to say yes to this week?

30-second prayer

God, give us Mary's yes — honest questions first, then obedience. Amen.

Make it stick: let a child read Luke 1:26-38 out loud tomorrow instead of you. Reading it to the family is worth ten times hearing it.

Tomorrow: Mary visits Elizabeth (Luke 1:39-56). ArkQuest queues the next reading automatically, so nobody has to decide what comes after tonight.
